Pregnancy Symptoms - Obsessing in the Two Week Wait

?What is the two week wait

Well, in case you did not know the two week wait (TOW) is the time between ovulation and when the next round is due to start (ie the next menstruation). This is a time when a woman is in limbo because essentially she does not know if she is pregnant or not. The tow can cause women to obsess about the signs and the changes they see in their bodies as may be the only way to determine at this stage if they might be pregnant or not, as most of the time it is too early to take a pregnancy test.

During the two weeks of waiting, it is difficult for women to know what to do and not do - really if you might be pregnant, there are so many things you could not do if you were, but if you tried to get pregnant for a long time then you might be tired of not doing these things during the tow.

When trying to get pregnant, you often notice things that you have not noticed before, even if you think you have done! Aches, pains etc all seem new - but what are the symptoms of pregnancy and it is not?

Symptoms of pregnancy or The Mind Tricks Play

So, now I speak from my own experience of waiting two weeks. I said I was not going to obsess about or even think about the symptoms of pregnancy during this time, but really when you get caught with it, it is almost impossible not to get involved.

First, before I lists many symptoms of pregnancy that I discovered when I was on the tow, I must say that I also discovered that many women get no symptoms at all and also much the pregnancy symptoms are also symptoms of being per-menstrual. So do not judge your pregnancy or not you have the symptoms!

For me, almost every month, I felt I had a lot of symptoms that I did not before I started trying to get pregnant, but really I was just being fooled by my mind or my body and end I was not pregnant so none of these counted.

The time I did get pregnant, I had almost no symptoms and the only reason I knew was because my temperature went up to the day of my period was to begin (it would normally go down with most people).

Symptoms of pregnancy

Thus, some of the early pregnancy symptoms that you can get are:

Dizziness
Bloating
Sore breasts / nipples
Nausea
Cramps
Sense of smell
Unlike cervical mucus (CM lot of white cream)
Change in the position of the cervix (higher)
Bleeding gums
Some of these symptoms are apparent before your period is due and so should not get involved in this, however, if you don t normally get sore breasts for example, and your sense of smell is far too high, this could be a good sign. Bleeding gums is unusual, but occurs during early pregnancy to time.

Some symptoms that I thought might relate to pregnancy and so I looked were:

Feeling very thirsty
Well I go ogled this at a time and I found this huge long thread of people saying "oh yes, I was very thirsty, too, is a sign of early pregnancy? - And they would all be in the tow and said they would come and update the thread once they found out, but it seemed that no one did. But what I take most of them were not pregnant! There were a couple of people who said they were really thirsty before they discovered they were pregnant, but most of the ladies asked and not say, and therefore the construction of the station with their questions "thirsty" and to put it at the top of Google!

So I would say that it is unlikely that I found that being very thirsty is a symptom of pregnancy, but that does not mean you are very thirsty you are not pregnant!

Diarrhea / constipation

It was another symptom that people were asking about and it seems that it is possible that it could be a symptom. However, many women trying to conceive take prenatal vitamins and these can sometimes cause these symptoms occur.

This is the book that many people refer to as the bible of fertility. So many people swear by the advice given in this book to become pregnant. I had so many recommendations of this book to people who either were pregnant or trying to get pregnant.

Try to ignore possible symptoms of pregnancy

So the lesson I learned is to try and ignore everything that could be symptoms of pregnancy because it is perhaps not, it could just be linked to menstruation or actually nothing at all. I had four days of cramps and nausea as well as some dizziness and what I thought was implantation bleeding, only to find at the end of any negative pregnancy test. I really sometimes convince myself that I was pregnant - I had not had these symptoms at any time, so why do they occur now!

In the second part of your cycle, your body produces progesterone and can cause symptoms such as sore breasts so that these can not be symptoms of pregnancy, but only a part of your normal cycle. However, if you normally do not get sore breasts while this could be a sign!

Maybe it's just our mind plays tricks on us during the tow, or maybe we see a little more because we take notice. In any case, do not concentrate (easier said) and just try to keep you busy for two weeks until you get to the point where you are ready to take a pregnancy test.

When I was unable to conceive I had blood tests for fertility and was told that I had an FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) of 54 and would not be able to have children.
